Looks Like Someone in the Kremlin Missed the Memo About Computer Updates From Ages Ago, Or They Just Really Love Retro Tech

Looks Like Someone in the Kremlin Missed the Memo About Computer Updates From Ages Ago, Or They Just Really Love Retro Tech

It appears the leader of a major global power, as seen in photographs from around 2019, might be running his digital world on a system that's a genuine relic. We're talking about Windows XP, an operating system for which Microsoft officially pulled the plug on all support way back on April 8, 2014. That’s a significant time lag, meaning well over a decade of technological advancements and absolutely crucial security patches have been completely bypassed for that machine. Persisting with Windows XP today means the computer is essentially an open invitation for digital troubles, as Microsoft no longer issues any security updates, offers any form of support whether you're willing to pay or not, or provides online technical content updates. It really makes you ponder whether this technological time warp is a deliberate choice, a simple oversight, or perhaps an unshakeable fondness for software that belongs in a museum, despite the glaring security holes this presents, especially in such a prominent office.
