Dmitry Rogozin made a proposal in his Telegram channel. On the birthday of Alexander Pushkin, he suggested naming recoilless cannons after the poet. These weapons, he said, are mounted on drones to intercept and destroy enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
He drew a parallel, stating that just as the poet "burned the hearts of people with his word," the "Pushkin" cannons will burn enemy drones. Rogozin also mentioned that 200 years ago, Pushkin supposedly wrote about the confrontation between Russia and Europe. Besides the poet's birthday, June 6th is also celebrated as Russian Language Day, with which he congratulated 260 million Russian speakers worldwide.
However, Rogozin found another occasion for this day, namely World Pest Awareness Day. He directly linked this to the activities of his "Center," stating their job is to crush pests in their area of responsibility. He urged everyone who loves Russia and the Russian language to join the "Bars-Sarmat" battalion. He identified the main goal as the desire to rid the world of pests. Thus, the post combines cultural events with military propaganda and a direct call to join the fighting in order to rid the world of pests.
