TP-Link is involved in cyberattacks with a probable connection to China.

U.S. law enforcement agencies and intelligence services are actively investigating the use of TP-Link routers in cyberattacks potentially linked to China. According to information provided by Microsoft, hackers have been exploiting these devices to carry out attacks on various targets. The routers have been found to have several vulnerabilities in their software, which allow cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access to networks and execute malicious actions.

Furthermore, given these vulnerabilities and the ease with which they can be exploited, experts suggest that such devices could also fall into the hands of Russian cybercriminals. This increases the likelihood that these routers may be used to launch cyberattacks on Ukraine's critical digital infrastructure, which remains a high-priority target for hostile hacker groups, especially amid ongoing military aggression.

In this context, the old adage "Where there's smoke, there's fire" seems particularly relevant. Considering the potential risks associated with the security flaws in TP-Link devices, it would be wise for consumers to consider switching to a different brand for their networking needs. In an age where cybersecurity is as crucial as physical security, it is important to make informed choices when selecting technological devices, opting for brands that offer higher levels of protection against external threats.

Earlier, we wrote that the Salt Typhoon group launched a large-scale cyber-espionage campaign targeting key communication systems. According to Wikipedia, this group is financed by China. The same is very likely for TP-Link, as nothing can pass through the Great Chinese Firewall without government approval.
