Scammers have devised a sneaky scheme using fake pages featuring a QR code. This code appears to request adding a new device to your account. Invitations to scan such codes often come from already compromised accounts of your friends or acquaintances.
When you scan this code, you unknowingly grant access to your account, giving scammers full control to act on your behalf.
What to do if you’ve fallen victim:
1. Do not log out of your account! This ensures the attackers can’t lock you out.
2. Go to your account settings and remove any unfamiliar devices.
3. Enable two-factor authentication for added security.
4. Change your password to something strong and unique.
Always stay vigilant and avoid scanning suspicious QR codes!
