Why pay more? The revolution of free AI you need to know about.

In the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence, there's a common misconception that the best tools are expensive. Many people pay for subscriptions without realizing there's an entire arsenal of powerful, and most importantly, free resources available. In this overview, I want to dispel that myth and share a selection of incredible tools that I personally use in my work. We'll cover everything from advanced search engines that provide ready-made answers to tools for generating images, music, and even video. So, let's dive into the world of free AI and discover how you can enhance your workflow without emptying your wallet.

Google AI Studio is a tool from Google where they test various new models, and you can use them for free. It has a huge volume of chats, and you can use the latest models, like Gemini 2.5 Pro. Essentially, almost all their products being tested are available here. There's also the capability for generating and creating images, videos, and you can use Gemini Speech Generation. Honestly, it generates images really well.

Remembrance Hub is my own project that allows you to create shared photos with a person, a family member who has long passed away. You can upload your photo, the photo of the deceased person, a background, and you'll get a final picture depending on the parameters you choose.

NotebookLM is another tool that is also free. The only difference from the paid version is that the knowledge base you work with is limited to 50 sources. It's a powerful RAG system from Google. It uses information not from the internet, but specifically the data you upload to it. It can be used for both learning and analytics. For example, if I don't want to watch a YouTube video that's several hours long, I can just paste the link here, and it summarizes it for me, after which I can ask questions. This tool has become simply indispensable.

Leonardo.AI is one of the first tools I used for image generation. It's relatively free: you are given 150 credits per day to use it.

Things is a tool for generating your own unique icons. You are also given a certain number of credits, but in my opinion, the ones that have already been generated are more than enough. It can be used for presentations or websites, which is quite good.

Suno is a relatively free tool. You get about 550 credits a month, which you can use to generate various kinds of music. However, it turns out they have restricted the ability to download the generated tracks in the free version.

Perplexity is one of the most powerful and best search engines based on artificial intelligence, a direct competitor to Google. It's great because it allows you to find more detailed information. Google shows a maximum of 10% of the information from the entire internet, like the tip of an iceberg, whereas Perplexity covers more data and gives you more detailed information and a concise summary.

Kling.ai is a tool for video generation. It has a free basic plan, and you can generate videos, but "free" means you'll be waiting several hours for a single 5-second generation. My nervous system isn't ready for that.

Pinokio and Ollama are essentially free tools, but they are only free if you have a decent graphics card. By installing them, you can use a vast number of tools on your own computer for generating images, videos, Text-to-Speech, and many other models. This allows you to create a local voice assistant that won't have internet access, ensuring your personal data doesn't go online.

Semantic Scholar is another AI-powered search engine that looks for information in scientific literature. If you're writing a research paper or an essay, this tool will become a real lifesaver for you. The drawback is that it only understands English.

Speechma is a free Text-to-Speech tool that converts text into voice. The Ukrainian language is available, but only with two voices—Ostap and Polina. In terms of quality, it doesn't convey emotion, it just reads the text, but it can be used for creating short videos. As they say, free is free.

As you can see, the world of artificial intelligence offers a vast number of powerful tools that don't require payment. From content creation and scientific research to music and video generation, the possibilities are astounding. While paid services certainly have their advantages, especially for professional use, the free alternatives offer incredible power that is more than enough for personal projects, learning, and even many professional tasks. The main thing is not to be afraid to experiment. Try these services, find the ones that best suit your goals, and you'll be surprised at how much more productive your workflow can become. The future is here, and it's more accessible than ever.
