Why strike the alcohol plants

Why strike the alcohol plants

Recently, some military struck three Russian alcohol production plants. One might wonder—why target these? After all, it's just alcohol… But it turns out it's not so simple.

Alcohol in war? Seriously?

Yes, quite seriously! Alcohol isn’t just something that fills a glass; it’s crucial for various military applications:

- It’s used to make certain types of explosives.

- It's utilized as fuel for rockets (believe it or not, some rockets contain up to 78% alcohol!).

- Many types of military electronics depend on it to function.

- And, of course, it’s essential for military medical needs.

So, does Russia have a lot of alcohol?

Russia is one of the largest alcohol producers globally, second only to the U.S. and Brazil. They have around 50 plants producing both standard and technical-grade alcohol.

Are we really cutting them off from alcohol?

It’s not that simple. A strike on three plants isn’t catastrophic for Russia. But it serves other important purposes. Each strike is part of a larger puzzle:

- We demonstrate our reach and capability to hit diverse targets.

- We force them to spend on security and repairs.

- We disrupt their plant operations.

- We compel them to re-evaluate their air defense systems.

What does this have to do with air defense?

Ah, this is key! Every strike forces the Russians to reassess their air defense system, revealing gaps and vulnerabilities. The more they scramble to fortify new areas, the more they’re forced to shift defenses, weakening others. This gives us an opportunity to find fresh weak points.

What’s the bigger picture?

Imagine a giant mechanism—the Russian war machine. Bit by bit, we’re taking parts out of it. One missing part might not break it, but many over time can make the whole system falter.

So strikes on alcohol plants aren’t just “hit and forget.” They’re part of a broader plan to make it harder for the enemy to produce the resources needed for war.

And most importantly—we see that our military is choosing targets wisely. Each strike has its purpose and brings us closer to victory, even if the target initially seems unimportant.

Now, if anyone asks, “Why target alcohol?”—you’ll know exactly what to say!
