YouTube has restricted access within Ukraine to the video channels of several figures who are subject to national sanctions. This move comes as a consequence of measures implemented by Ukrainian authorities against these specific persons. The platform's action means viewers in Ukraine can no longer access this content.
Among those affected by this blocking are the YouTube channels associated with Oleksii Arestovych. Additionally, the channels belonging to other individuals on the sanctions list have also been made inaccessible. These include Kostyantyn Bondarenko, Dmytro Vasylets, Anastasia Kashevarova whose work is linked to publications like DailyStorm and This is media, and Pavlo Onyshchenko.
These restrictions are directly linked to the fact that all the individuals mentioned have been placed under punitive measures by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council. These sanctions were formally put into effect through decrees issued by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This current blocking action by YouTube follows similar steps taken previously. The platform had already restricted access to the channels of Oleksandr Shelest and Vadym Karasyov under comparable circumstances involving Ukrainian sanctions. It has been explicitly confirmed that all the channels listed are presently non-functional and cannot be viewed within the territorial limits of Ukraine.
